About us

The British Sub Aqua Club is a non-commercial diver-training organisation. All Instructors are members who have invested their own time and money into rigorous training to be able to help you discover the joys of diving, in this country and abroad.
Sheffield 36 is a local branch of BSAC, and membership of the club gives access to all the training you will need, together with support, encouragement and advice as you progress. You will also join a great bunch of people who all love diving and regularly organise trips at home and abroad, plus non diving social events for all the family to enjoy.

The Club runs various diving activities during the year - members organise day or weekend trips to places such as:
• the East Coast
• St. Abbs in Scotland
• the Farne Islands
• Plymouth
...... and other destinations around the UK.

Most years longer diving trips are run to places further afield - for instance past trips have been to Skye, Ireland, Scapa Flow, Oban, the Scillies, the Maldives and the Red Sea.

There are members with a variety of interests, including:
• marine biology
• underwater archaeology
• wrecks
• underwater photography and video

The club has a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) which members can use on these trips. It is equipped with modern electronic navigation equipment for finding wrecks and other dive sites.
